I know it's been forever since I last posted. The kids have kept me so busy I haven't had much computer time. But, we're all doing wonderful! Adam is now crawling all over the house and is getting into everything. He's very curious. Right now he's most amused with the springy door-stoppers and the shutters since he knows how to open and close them.
His tummy troubles haven't really gotten any better. At Adam's follow up appointment with the Gastrointerologist he increased Adam's meds. and if things don't get significantly better in 3-4weeks then he'll be tested for Celiac Disease. Although severe constipation is not a common symptom of Celiac Disease it isn't unusual to see this in young babies. If you didn't know, Celiac Disease is a digestive disease that interferes with the absorption of nutrients from food. It's an allergy to gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. The immune system responds by damaging villi (which absorb nutrients) that line the small intestines. Without healthy villi, a person can have difficulty gaining weight and become malnourished. I'm really hoping he doesn't have this but I don't know what else it could be. I guess we'll know for sure in a few weeks.
Jonathan has been in pre-school now for the past 3+ weeks and absolutely loves it. He says he likes playing outside and singing the "friends" song the most. His teachers have nothing but wonderful things to say about him; he's very attentive, follows directions and is a good friend to others. We're so proud of big boy! It's much easier now leaving him at school in the mornings. The 2.5hrs go by really fast. Adam usually naps while Jonathan's at school and I take advantage of all my quiet time to exercises. Jonathan has also mastered riding his bike and VERY fast too (note to self: I need to buy him a helmet). He has also taken on the job of making his lunches every day, helping me make dinner and recently found a new love for doing jigsaw puzzles and has been practicing how to use a jump rope too. There's just no limit to what he can do!
