It's been much too long since my last post. Jonathan and Adam have been keeping me so busy during the day that it's not too long before I pass out... I mean, go to bed for the night. Time for myself has become a thing of the past. So anyway, I'm suppose to be working out, then yard work, then laundry while Adam takes his morning nap (Jonathan's at school) but I'm feeling kind of sluggish this morning (waking up at 5am will do that) so I thought I'd jump on the computer for a bit and post an update.
Jonathan is doing amazingly well in school. His social side is really starting to shine now as he's making so many friends. He says his favorite thing about school is cutting paper (he discovered the art of using scissors this week) so I'm helping him learn how to cut out shapes with them. With the help of a pre-school reading program I purchased from Scholastic, Jonathan's now reading about a dozen sight words... YAY! He loves it and gets so excited when we play his word games. It's so wonderful to see how much joy he gets from reading. He still has a love for jigsaw puzzles - he's now doing ones with 100 pieces, he just graduated to the next level in his swim class and he's been practicing his computer skills on my laptop every day. I also have to brag that he is the BEST big brother in the whole entire world. He is so gentle and protective of Adam it is so precious. He tells me that he wants to keep his baby brother forever and ever and if anyone tries to take him away he will shout at them, "give my baby back!" He likes telling me this story... it's so cute.
Speaking of my little toodles; Adam is doing MUCH better. His tummy troubles have resolved and he's now pooping daily with ease. It took the help of a lactation consultant to see that Adam probably wasn't getting enough breast milk. Nothing to do with me but rather more to do with Adam being such an active boy that getting him to stop and nurse during the day was almost impossible. So as of a few weeks ago I started to supplement his day time feedings with formula and breastfeed him at night. So far so good!
Besides crawling Adam is pulling himself up to stand and even lets go for a few seconds. He also dances, waves, says "dada/mama" and "uh-oh", claps his hands, and gives kisses. He loves playing with anything that's NOT a toy such as buttons on the TV, springy door stoppers, garbage cans, etc. He sure keeps me on my toes... but in a good way of course. 'Til the next time...
